The Mallard is a typical representative of waterfowl, the male Mallard is large in size, 55-60 cm in length and 1.2-1.4 kg in weight. Its beak is brown or greenish-brown, a few yellow. The head and neck are dark green with a metallic luster (hence the name Mallard), with a white ring under the neck separated by a chestnut-colored breast.
Mallards are deemed dabbling ducks because they feed by floating on the water while diving headfirst under the water with their butts in the air. They do this to catch insects or feed on underwater plants in shallow waters. Plants, worms, snails, shrimp, seeds, or grains—they’ll eat just about anything that’s smaller than them.
They can literally live in any wetland habitat—both natural or artificial. They are not afraid of heat and cold, in the tropics and cold zones can adapt to, cold hardiness than heat resistance. It can live normally at -25-40℃. Strong disease resistance, less disease, high survival rate.
